Default Air of Enchantment: Does it Have Any Use?

[skill=big]Air of Enchantment[/skill]

So, This skill. You can't target yourself with it. It lasts ~9 seconds. It is elite.

What is it's point?

I've read Guildwiki which says you can spam it on someone with Zealot's Fire, Reversal of Fortune and Guardian...but if you're doing that, you're working so hard to maintain it on ome individual you can't possibly keep an eye on the rest of the party...can you?

Has anyone found a use for this, on the face of it, horrifically pointless excuse for an elite?

Would it not work as a form of energy management on a protector? (although other elites are more usful) Things like Reversal will cost 1 energy and Protspirit just 5 energy.

Could come in very handy when a tank is holding all the agroo and taking Alot of damage i guess. I wouldnt say its useless but i would say it could really do with a small buff say like making it last 4......15 seconds instead of 4......10 to make it more desirable.

Originally there was no minimum energy and I suspect it could be cast on yourself. It was used in AoE smite as your describe but now [skill]Master of Magic[/skill] has really caused it to obsolesce even in that narrow function. It's pretty useless now, I think it's usable in FA on gate guards by kurzick-side bonders but even in that niche role it wouldn't excel. So yeah, this got got hit by the nerf stick a little harder than it could afford. If there's a valid niche for it now I guess it'd be AoE smite still but when used with a dervish who would benefit from reduced cost themselves but I'm sceptical.

Oh yeah as well as MoM there's [skill]Divine Spirit[/skill][skill]Glyph of Renewal[/skill] which is a lot better

its thé skill to use on a smiter monk.
Thats also why its now this crap. They already changed it.

All the smiters in pvp where using it. And some are still using it.

something like that was ran in gvg/hoh
[skill]air of enchantment[/skill][skill]reversal of fortune[/skill][skill]reversal of damage[/skill][skill]guardian[/skill][skill]judge's insight[/skill][skill]balthazar's aura[/skill][skill]zealot's fire[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]

It was good pressure.
not possible to use this continusly now that zealot's fire makes you lose 1 energy.
of course you focussed on someone, overprotecting him.

You can still use it, you just have to Auspicious Incantation your Balths Aura.

Zealots fire. RoF. Guardian. Air of Enchant...

14 in smiting - you're not the primary monk anymore, you don't *need* to look after everyone else.

It's basically the only way you can make a viable smite monk. And yes, it is a very good skill.

I hate it because it is more or less a single target kind of skill, which precludes its existence in protection prayers.

mayb if u had a 2nd monk put it on the other monk and that monk had things like Shield Guardian
"good skill if it was "5 energy" but a lot of work for it as well may as well just use RoF at that point :P

as mentioned already, it's still ok when smiting off a target -- but the 3 main nerfs (Aoe - costing at least 1 e per skill / Zealot's - losing 1 e per cast / another balths aura nerf) really killed the build over time.

however, with the buff to Auspicious Incantation, it is now easy to still smite off fairly good -- just the elite swapped to [skill]Signet of Removal[/skill] thanks to a hex heavy meta.

WOW, it never hit me to use Auspicious Incantation, great skill, but it does require a high investment into Insperation, but that would really work for reducing the cost of Balthazar's Aura, right?

It doesn't reduce the cost, but it does give you around 42 energy back when you use it in combination with Balths. (at 9 Insp)

I`ve seen people use AI with Panic too. It is such a good spell.

Coordinate with a second monk to bring Release Enchantments; load'em up for free and for 5 energy drop a huge party wide heal. Aside from that and smiting... not much you can do.

The only time people ever used it was on the AOE smiters before the nerf of Zealot's fire.
